Tucked inside a BP gas station, this unassuming taqueria is run by Chef Christian De Leon, a passionate chef with years of experience in professional kitchens. He made the bold decision to branch out and open his own spot, and let me tell you — it was the right move. What Chef Christian is doing here goes way beyond “good for a gas station.” These tacos are the real deal — the kind that stop you mid-bite with a quiet “whoa.” I went straight for the carnitas, and I might never look back. Juicy, flavorful, and fall-apart tender, they pack a serious punch. There’s a richness to the pork that tells you it’s been slow-cooked with care, not rushed out of a steam tray. And while the tortillas do their job, the carnitas bring so much juice that I strongly recommend eating them on-site. Don’t risk the drive — this taco is best enjoyed hot and fresh, with napkins nearby. While I didn’t grab the shrimp tacos this visit, I’ve heard they’re a crowd favorite and definitely worth checking out if you're a seafood fan. It’s on my list for next time. What makes this place even more impressive is the setting. We’re talking about a make-shift kitchen inside a gas station, but you’d swear you were eating from a full-scale taqueria with a trained crew. That’s the magic of Chef Christian — he brings years of culinary knowledge, flavor intuition, and hustle into every taco. El Sazón isn’t trying to be flashy — it’s just trying to be great, and that’s exactly what makes it so special. Great food. Great story. Great tacos. So if you’re in Eagan and want something real, something handmade with love and skill, skip the chain drive-thrus. Pull into that BP station and treat yourself to one of the most satisfying taco experiences in town. Chef Christian took the risk — and now we all get the reward.

Had food delivered, still hot all the over by Lake Nokomis. Really good Elote! (Warning, they toss some onion strings on top) The burritos are huge and full of flavor. The chicken appears to be all marinated grilled breast meat cut into tender strips. The side of rice was nice with the black beans, I’ll have to read up on the sauce selections. The one I figured would be a salsa (Ortega) was just tomatos onions and cilantro. Really great and can’t wait to go back and try more of the menu.

Great tacos, in a gas station. I got 4 tacos, an Al Pastor, Asada, Birria and Carnitas. I thought the Carnitas were the best, the asada tends to fall out of the taco. The ordering is self service, you're prompted to tip 15%+ for making your food and calling your name when it's ready? These are the best gas station tacos I have ever had, and they are priced accordingly, almost $5 each. Their restaurant location is a better experience.

This place is in a gas station. The service is great but you want to order to go. The small tables inside the gas station are dirty and it just isn't a nice vibe to eat in. I grabbed one steak taco to try it out first and ate it in the car. It was good; so I then ordered 3 more to go. Steak was good flavor but meat was a bit tough. Shrimp taco was delicious but the breaded shrimp where a bit greasy. The pastor taco was great! And the birria taco was delicious. Gonna go back and try more things.

We visited this place after reading an article featuring them (MPR) The food more than lived up to the hype! It seems like such a tiny kitchen, but we really enjoyed everything we ordered, and thought their spicy salsa was especially good. The burrito bowl was a really great mix of flavors, and I loved the veggie taco as a vegetarian option... next time I'm going back for Carne asada tacos and nachos though. Yum! Definitely worth stopping for take out.

Really enjoyed the food! Great flavor and great options. The salsa I received was super spicy, I would have liked trying a milder option I think. Service was great they are attentive and come out to you when you are ready, offered suggestions, and even carried my food out to my car for me while I was carrying my little one. I look forward to the day they may expand to a space outside of the BP with some additional options for eating in instead of to go. When you first enter you may not even notice the small window and corner kitchen they operate out of! Definitely recommend trying El Sazon and we will be back to try more!

Some seating is available both indoor and out and they bring your meal out to you. I kind of liked that there was a sink nearby in the corner of the store because I like washing my hands before and after I touch food. Quesabirria tacos were amazingggg. 10/10 I will definitely be back!

Found El Sazon by way of TikTok so we decided to stop by to try it out. The food was good, but I would say it was lacking slightly in flavor to remember that taste. When we ordered, there was a sign that said it would take over half an hour for your order, so we were prepared to just dine-in. There are a few tables inside the gas station available for you to use. The staff was friendly and got our order out when it was ready. The bathrooms are managed by the gas station, but I would recommend not using them haha.
